ABOUT ME

My name is Ian Macek.  I live in Kimberley, British Columbia.  Currently, I am completing the Advanced Diploma Geographic Information Systems (ADGIS) program at Selkirk College.

I have previously studied at the University of Victoria, completing a B.Sc. in Geography, focusing on weather, climate studies, and cartography, and a M.Sc. in Geography, focusing on cartography.

While not in school, I work for the BC Wildfire Service, where I am an officer in the Cranbrook Fire Zone.  My interests include skiing, exploring, and instilling in my young daughters the curiosity I have for the world.
